Tabloids – we know them, we see them pretty much everyday. The younger more immature ones would do anything to see a certain page and there’s something for everyone, all laid out proportionally and an overall good read.
Absolutely fucking no. I’ve actually had it. Why? Here’s why:
As you can see, this is a page of breaking news some pages into the paper, but I attack the general economy of space, you probably didn’t notice the far left, that is, the stabbed pregnant woman.
I don’t know her, I might have not liked her if I met her, but surely she and her unborn child (who did not survive either) deserves more than less than a sixth of the fucking page? When there was a race to see who can turn Jade Goody – public enemy number 1 in the UK due to racism, into someone nearing canonisation? Taking up enough pages to get Greenpeace on your arse? When who is she? A semi-literate individual famous due to a reality show where you sell your soul (however I don’t have much against her as a person, but bare with me). Also, today’s front page did consist of a model and her dilapidating private life, and the page succeeding the one shown is two pages on 3am, a mixture of what appears to be a lot of make up, alcohol and semen.
Why do papers do this? Because they want money, simple. Why does that get them money? Because this society is over-interested in the superficial and the rise of talentless ‘celebrities’ with less moral value than the maniacs stabbing innocent people like herself who are barely mentioned.
So society, fuck you. You have malformed this child known as the news and manipulated it to feed your lust for…God knows what you want.
