Michael Jackson is now deceased due to a cardiac arrest, aged 50. I was rather sceptical about all the speculation going on (specifically by ∞ Facebook statuses on the matter) and held Wikipedia (as always) as my number one resource, then it hit me when it said the “died 2009” after refreshing the page every now and then and experiencing bad internet at such a crucial moment. I’m probably going to come out as a cynical bastard here but to be honest, I don’t like him, and I don’t mourn his death. Now, I’m sorry but if someone I don’t like dies it doesn’t mean I’m going to magically like them and beg the Pope to canonise them, am I? But trusting the media I’d eat my hat if I don’t see lamenting by the tabloids tomorrow. To me, this is an echo of Jade Goody – who was once hated but now has blood sacrifices laid to her. Also, I’m not too sure if he really dated younger women (or men?) but his verdict is unreliable as any celebrity gets cleared in the States. Oh well…
