Right let’s set the scene, it’s a typical Monday 15th June 2009, which is valete (sign-off-from-school-day). I think it’s best I criticise the shite out of this system (and if a teacher is somehow reading this, I propose you keep reading). Now the system works in theory, i.e. call them in, queue up, hand in books, sign out and enjoy your awfully long summer free from compulsory education. However, do you know what else works in theory? Communism. You see, in practice, it can never work if all of us (~180) are called in at one time with one teacher per desk (most noteably maths where we queued until time itself got bored due to everyone doing the subject). Also, the actual signing off process required a huge queue where only one out of the two were signing off, which is stupid. Oh well, just plain sailing for me now followed by 50 years or so in a tobacco farm…
Anyway, back to the focus – afterwards at the cinema watching Terminator 4. Short and overall verdict: ledge. Long verdict: well basicallé the special effects are awesome and the lack of now 61-year-old Arnie is compensated by a lookalike from him in the first one in 1984. Also, even though the film isn’t focused on much of a personal level and ditches the generic plot for the 3 films there is still some emotion and I like the many ways which it relates back to the early films (as they were objectively the best – T3 fucked up the plot and just opened up a cynical side to me), which was funny as I could predict a few things due to my superior knowledge of the films. I think the series has redeemed itself and I now support it again, just as long as they don’t make any more time paradoxes and stop being tempted by the evils of Hollywood…Oh, and as long as the Sarah Connor Chronicles crawls into a hole and die. Other criticisms aside, go watch it, but remember 2 will always be the best.
