Third birthday! 25/09/2011
What a productive year! So much accomplished! …Wait, what? Okay. As you most certainly know, thomas-reddington.com was launched on 12th September so this post is almost two weeks overdue. I’ve scrapped weekly videos. I didn’t post comics despite promising I’ll put some up this summer. By the time you read this, there will be no podcast section, and at this rate you can expect two weeks between posts if you’re lucky. There’s not even awards like the past two years. There is one front I’ve conquered. Unfortunately for me it’s the old A-level stuff section, attracting thousands in exam time and preparing a hostel for tumble weed in the intermediate period. I assure you, it will remain through university (I start on the 2nd, by the way). I’m currently on Weebly Pro, which allows 100MB file limits (so I can have ZIP folders), but I don’t know if I’ll keep Weebly Pro (as I originally wanted them for podcasts). I’ll update the sections as well (bearing in mind how busy I’ll be and how lazy I am with anything to do with this site). I should stop making promises, but I promise to post more. We’ll see next year, dearies. 1 Comment No more weekly videos 05/08/2011
Three guesses why. They clog up the blog and I spend five seconds picking out something each week only I seem to like. I’m also getting so lazy that I’m not hitting the basic deadline. At least you’ll see only normal posts now, right? So much blood… 28/06/2011
FREEDOM! 10:43 a.m. yesterday morning was one of the latest finishing times in the year, but that’s all in the past (in stark contrast to the state of my liver). Overall, apart from C4 stabbing me in the back, they weren’t horrendous. I’m noting how my views are beautifully dropping now exams are over, but now I have time to post (and start uploading comics and podcasts). Time for a few months of doing nothing and being proud of it, with results day in the back of my mind. I don’t really have anything to say at the moment, so just look out for the ’cast on Friday. Comics and podcasts… 09/06/2011
Some weeks ago I uploaded a few webcomics. They mysteriously disappeared as my scanner was being a pain in getting them onto the computer. That was true, but I also stopped because it was a bit of effort, something I can deal with after these bastard exams. For those of you that saw them, they were terribly drawn and at my greatest hopes mildly funny. Fear not, they will return on Friday, 1st July, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And for the second point, I’ve been wanting to do some podcasting for many years, but not enough to actually buy a microphone and strangle myself until I have acceptable vocal chords. However, a few friends and I have acquired a microphone (and some personalities), and the pilot will be uploaded on 1st July as well. We don’t know how regular they will be, but hope to post instalments time to time well into university. Keep in mind the pilot will be horrible and is only an essential step forward into podcasting. Webcomics. I’ve talked about them. I’ll talk about them more. But for once there might actually be a possibility of me putting them up. I now have a scanner for the first time in years bundled with twenty drafts and cards and stationary. The main problem is humour, which is why I’ll submit these three typical drafts. If it goes ahead, I won’t computerise them because they’ll look horrible (but clean), I’ll stick to these lined (yes, lined) cards with a variable amount of panels, but will add a little colour along with partially legible handwriting (OK, I might make the text computerised). Here you go, anyway: Don’t spare me the harsh criticism, but if all is well I’ll make this a regular thing (perhaps a Monday/Wednesday/Friday thing if I can keep up). I think my presentation options are either a separate blog or a gallery, but the former will annoy readers when there’s four panels due to limited space. Let’s see how this goes… Freedom! 31/01/2011
Exams: done. Site updates: bring it. Daily visitors: declining like my memory. Six of them was a pain, but it’s all done now, and most importantly they’re out of my mind until March. Understandably I’ll be posting more now, and actually posting about things that are in no way academic. I touched upon the idea of comics last end-of-exam time, but they might actually make an appearance this time (they’ll suck nonetheless). I’ll probably throw in a couple of things if it’s worth it. ’Til May… Sorry guys… 02/01/2011
Unless you’ve been too busy hitting the Download File button or you’re a major weekly video buff, you’ve noticed my lack of proper posting. It’s annoyed me too, but I’ll throw one to you now (I’ve obviously been busy). I rant a lot, and I love it. The world doesn’t work the way I like it, and I will voice about it until you smash a chair over my back to stop me. I casually wrote this section recently, and I’ll casually expand it later on. So here you go, the Letters section (under Miscellaneous for reference). And a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. PDF vultures 11/12/2010
It’s December, you know what that means (no, not Christmas). I’ve started uploading A2 material (most importantly ZIP folders for maths modules). Just be patient, I’m going to try to ask/bribe/lobby teachers to give me papers that you can’t easily find elsewhere to upload next week (otherwise the section isn’t that useful). I might make ZIP folders out of them as well so you don’t have to spend an age downloading each one. For the meantime, just go to freeexampapers.com or the exam board website and stop sending me death threats. Second birthday! 12/09/2010
Well, thomas-reddington.com is now 2. It’s able to make very simple sentences and is on its way to be toilet trained. Keeping with tradition (of one year), let’s keep the same awards (with a small change). thomas-reddington.com award for keenness: Peter Steedman Pretty much straight after the release of last year’s anniversary post, Peter tracked down my 100th post as I certainly couldn’t be bothered to find it. Here’s his requested and deserved reward. thomas-reddington.com award for saving my arse: freeexampapers.com Turns out I can award my awards to websites as well. FreeExamPapers has saved my arse by playing a key role in my A-level stuff section, and hence a key role of this website. Kudos. thomas-reddington.com award for best friend’s blog: Thomas Heslin GameInfoDaily is a blog that’s actually good. Ignoring that infamous hiatus, he posts every day. And those posts are rich with content, and breathe the effort invested. thomas-reddington.com award for comments: Thomas Heslin Commenting is not really common on this blog, and we all know why. Mr Heslin can add this award to the bag for his constructive words he’s supplemented to a few posts. thomas-reddington.com award for annoyance: Shamir Shamir was the guy from these comments. To be fair, he wasn’t annoying, and in fact was pretty reasonable. I’m just a lazy person, and lengthy, numerous replies forming a quasi-debate isn’t my cup of tea. Now, let’s give a big cheer for the internal awards… thomas-reddington.com award for best development: A-level stuff This is the fancy new award, replacing site technology. Jesus Christ, I seem to mention it in every post… thomas-reddington.com award for best completion on the 100 things list: Get an A at AS-level It doesn’t matter whatever the hell this is, as it happened to be the only thing I completed this year. thomas-reddington.com award for best post: Get a life… I liked this one, an overly explained idea of mine with blue graphs. Like last year, I might offer the award for keenness in exchange for a task. Let the 2011 one go to the one who makes the best suggestion for best development. “Deleting your site” will not count. Change… 06/07/2010
Let me first pleasantly inform you that my tantrum concerning visitors (or lack thereof) has come to an end, surprisingly and slightly ironically after finding out my three week >100 streak has come to an end: Second of all, I’ve recategorised a few things. ‘Philosophy’ has died as it had a token post, while ‘school stuff’ and ‘graphs’ is living its first hour in the world (with ‘graphs’ being bottle-fed this post). At some indeterminate point in the future, I intend to have a good look and fix mistakes I’ve made and put everything in a suitable category, although four weeks into the summer (where I’m in a boredom coma) is a while away… Last but not least, I’ve finally put an about section, here. I’ve put a self-description to cater to the needs of the stalkers, who should be rewarded for fuelling my urge for traffic in the first place. | TomRed’s what?
Welcome to my site, to the left of you are hundreds of posts where you might find something mildly interesting. If you’re here to steal my mark schemes, look up. For a further introduction and description, try the about section. Contact
