I was away again…
Yes, I’m still alive. I was away for a week and blah blah blah… So Google+ has been around for under a month, and by now I’m sure most of you know about it. It’s basically a social network that’s almost exactly like Facebook, with some minor differences. These are as follows, from what I’ve seen: • It’s not run by Mark Zuckerberg, but by Google (I’ll have to double check that). • Circles and more control over the share of information. In other words, you can post photos of that godless party but keep them to your friends without scarring your Google+ using parents. • It hasn’t pissed me off (yet). Facebook has angered myself (and many others) to the verge of embracing a similar, reliable competitor with open arms. It keeps changing and ignoring the cries of its users, its Chat is in the later stages of dementia, and in ten years or so I’m pretty sure the small print of its terms will have me by the balls (something slightly resembling the HUMANCENTiPAD episode of South Park). Still, when I joined Facebook I hated MySpace (remember that, kids?). I don’t want the déjà vu of leaving the abusive household of one social network to make a love nest with the other, only to walk into door knobs too many times and realise my mistake. Anyway, I got an account a few days ago, and I’ll just have to see what happens when it picks up and everyone joins it (which will likely happen, it is Google after all). It’s still invite only, so if you really want an account and have no other lines, hit me with your e-mail. I was away for a week. Stop looking at me like that. So I’ve been going on about new things for the site, and going back on my promises with no shame. We finally have the podcasts! The first is up, and sucks. Very few of you will get anything out of it from not knowing us personally and so will not really get the in-jokes. We’re recording tomorrow and the next will be up on Friday (probably). Hopefully they’ll improve in quality so much as to be worth listening to. Comics will be up…whenever. Definitely this summer. Hopefully this time I’ll stick to the routine and they will generate a laugh. Somewhere. Oh, and as I have no excuse to not post, there might actually be posts on this blog. Looking over this, I’ve noticed I’m ridiculously lazy. FREEDOM! 10:43 a.m. yesterday morning was one of the latest finishing times in the year, but that’s all in the past (in stark contrast to the state of my liver). Overall, apart from C4 stabbing me in the back, they weren’t horrendous. I’m noting how my views are beautifully dropping now exams are over, but now I have time to post (and start uploading comics and podcasts). Time for a few months of doing nothing and being proud of it, with results day in the back of my mind. I don’t really have anything to say at the moment, so just look out for the ’cast on Friday. I forgot for the second time. That’s not to make a parallel to this video, mind you. | TomRed’s what?
