Weekly video #7 10/31/2008

Let me introduce you to Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw, he is a legend. This week’s video is his “The Darkness” demo review (I think this was his first one) and will give you a taste of his humour. If you’d like to see more (you better ¬¬) visit his section on the Escapist Magazine, he usually does a review every Wednesday.

First time I’ve got something like that while randomly browsing Wikipedia. :P

“Piano- Pokemon R/B/Y trainer battle”

Anyone played Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow as a child? I did indeed (even though Gold was my first Pokémon game). Well this week’s is the famous RBY trainer battle theme that’s sure to bring those memories back.

Well as tomorrow’s an INSET day, half-term has already started! However, because I’m in 5th year that’s just an excuse to give you a shit load of work, so like me all 5th years are going to be busy all week…or at the last minute, depending on our preference.

For all of you that still think petrol’s fine for cars and alternative fuels are gay, look at the prices mate. Every alternative fuel has a flaw, put recently they’ve been working on a car that somehow works on magnets and air, someone explains:

“The Magnetic Air Car uses three on-board substations to harness compressed air. The resulting airflow is channelled, modulated, and converted to torque that propels the car.

According to company representative Paul Donovan, the car uses a silicon salt battery that has 30% more mass power than a lead acid storage battery and can charge completely within an hour. The 95 percent recyclable battery can also be used in a temperature range from -40 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius.”

It plans to have a prototype and be in full production by 2010 and if pulled off it might be the most sustainable car on the planet, and probably the cheapest to run. :D

Info here, here, here and here.

“Internet Party”

What if all your favourite websites had a party?

For those who don’t know, SATs are pussy exams for KS3, they just show how you’re doing and create unnecessary pressure. Well the KS3 ones are gone now, that may be good or bad but personally I think the year 9s should be taught the GCSE syllabus to prepare them for next year and do mocks at the end, also I think the government should keep them for the year 6s and year 2s; anyone here think otherwise?

NEW MACBOOKS! 10/14/2008

Yes new MacBooks and MacBook Pros are out, Apple have worked very hard on hardware and on the computer as a whole; there is only one problem and you’ve guessed it, it’s very, very expensive. :(

I’m not even sure if it’s worth getting one at the moment; the old ones are a lot cheaper with a bigger processor etc. so I’ll have to look quite into it.

See for yourself:

“Amateur Transplants - London Underground Song”

I’m sorry for the lack of posting but I’ve been pretty busy this week. I originally had something else planned this week but due to an annoying bus strike I feel obliged to post the legendary London Underground song (by Amateur Transplants) to sum up mine and everyone else’s disgust for TFL.
