Recently I watched the new Harry Potter film. I loved the first 2 and didn’t love the rest, I suppose I could try to see past the stupid acting, complementing themes and countless times to turn it into some sort of romantic comedy, but the main problem is Dumbledore. Now, Richard Harris was the best Dumbledore possible, unfortunately when he passed away we got someone who was completely different in appearance, voice, and character…c’mon now. This video is a hypothetical comparison between a speech by two Dumbledores. Try this one for a review.

I was awoken by the news this morning with the chilling words “cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women…” which was enough to notify me that Henry Allingham, the world’s oldest living man, has died at age 113. This brings two questions – what relevance is the phrase to knowing that? And why do I have such an admiration for this particular supercentenarian?

The phrase was how he described his longevity, which I happened to remember. Recently I gained an interest in longevity and as he was the oldest living man I visited his Wikipedia page often just in case, and it was rather weird as I visited his page yesterday, even weirder that I thought about him at about 1/half 1 in the morning (just a couple of hours before his death), so consequently I’m saddened to hear the news.

It’s also sad that he’s one of the few left born in the 19th century, the oldest living women stretches to 1894, but there’s possibly more that have been unconfirmed. Finally, it’s interesting to note that if you’re lucky enough to live to 110, there’s only a 2% chance of living to 115 (so it beats me how Jeanne Calment lived to 122).

I really agree with this guy (even though he should be harsher to Terminator 3), anyone who thinks the Sarah Connor Chronicles is worthy of Terminatorship should be shot. By the way his username is confusedmatthew.

It is rather ironic that I’ve been posting more during exam time than nothing-to-do time, I shall fix that problem when I eventually overcome laziness. Anyway, as I admire Mr Schwarzenegger (shown by my ability to spell his name) I command you to look at this. I’m not sure which is my favourite, maybe the philosopher or the machine. :D

As you can see posting has been minimal, which is unusual as I’ve been doing pretty much fuck all at the moment. Now watch this proposal and cry.
